Valencia – a favourite place in Spain

Sky enjoying a chin rub

This was our second visit to Valencia, Spain. We had visited in 2016 and fallen in love with this beautiful Spanish city and vowed to return one day.

As it happened, when we saw a house sit posted on House Sit Match in Valencia we quickly applied. We were extremely happy to have been selected to care for Skye and Bella, two lovely beagles.

Our new fur baby – Ollie

Here we are again, returning to a house sit in the Costa Brava region of Spain. Last year we cared for Alfie (cat), but he sadly passed away just a few weeks prior to our arrival. Our home owners, have a new pet, Oliver (Ollie), a gorgeous 11 month old Shih Tzu. A puppy they purchased 9 months ago, so Ollie is a ‘new addition’ for us.

Two cats, a dog and 86 million olive trees

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here we are in the Andalusian region of Southern Spain for 3 weeks.

Olive trees stretch for miles and miles around. Our home owners, retired English couple, David & Sylvia tell us there are 86 million trees in this region and is the highest producer of Olive Oil in Spain. In fact this area alone produces 75% of Spain’s olive oil.

This lovely renovated Spanish home with views overlooking, you guessed it, olive trees is our new home for the next 3 weeks.

This is Frank

You may remember Frank from one of last year’s posts.

We couldn’t resist returning to see Frank and his beautiful ‘mum’ Rose.

This lovely home nestled in the hills and amongst the olive and almond trees is so charming and peaceful, we love coming here.

We’re back in Spain again after spending 3 months house sitting in the UK and France.

We are an hours or so drive from Barcelona staying in a small town 5kms from Sant Feliu de Guixols in the Costa Brava region. This area of Spain is gorgeous, we are close to beautiful ‘blue flag’ beaches and there are an abundance of walking and cycling trails literally at our door step.

A view to Gibraltar

On the beach (with Gibraltar in the background)

A few weeks in May found us in Spain for a second time house sitting a beautiful labrador named ‘Scoline’. She lived in a lovely 2 bedroom apartment 150 metres from the beach at Getares, a small beachside community  with a view to Gibraltar and Africa.

Scoline had a beautiful nature and those sad puppy dogs eyes, so we fell in love with her instantly. She is 14 years old but is still very active for her age.

A Spanish cat called Frank

Riogordo-2016-04-26-109

Our first house sit in Europe, takes us to the small town of Riogordo, on the Costa Del Sol in Spain to look after ‘Frank’ the cat.  This house was located in a beautiful,  rural area surrounded by hills,  and olive and almond trees and 5km from the local town. Rose (Frank’s mum)  is a lovely English lady who has been living in Spain for nearly 30 years.
